Dr Lieutenant General SR Mehta, AVSM, VSM, PHS, former DGMS(Army) a graduate of SMS Medical College Jaipur joined the Army Medical Corps on 28 Oct 1971. He did his MD (Med) in 1979 from the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. He is a Fellow of Indian College of Physicians (FICP) and Fellow of College of Chest Physicians (FCCP–USA). Despite the demands of his administrative responsibilities, he actively engaged with the clinical operations of the apex Army Hospital (R&R), offering expert consultation even during odd hours, often placing duty above personal comfort. Revered within the medical fraternity, he stands as an icon of evidence-based medicine practiced with deep empathy and unwavering commitment. Post-retirement, he remains devoted to public service through his association with Ramakrishna Mission
