Dr Lt Gen SR Mehta, an eminent physician and decorated officer of the Army Medical Corps, has served the nation with distinction since 1971. An alumnus of SMS Medical College Jaipur and AFMC Pune, he has over 90 publications and is globally recognized for his pioneering work on malaria, heat stroke, carbon monoxide poisoning, and circadian rhythms. As a teacher, examiner, and author, he has shaped generations of medical professionals.

He held several prestigious appointments, including Professor & Head at AFMC Pune, Founder Dean of the Army College of Medical Sciences, and Director General Medical Services (Army). Under his visionary leadership, the Corps achieved significant strides in operational readiness, epidemic response, and international humanitarian missions.

Post-retirement, he continues to serve society through the Ramakrishna Mission in Jaipur and as Patron of the SREE Foundation in Bhilai, providing medical outreach to underserved communities. His life exemplifies unwavering dedication to medicine, education, and national service.

SREE Foundation is led by Dr. Lt Gen Shiv Ram Mehta (Retd)—a visionary and compassionate leader whose distinguished service in the medical field is rooted in a lifelong commitment to humanity. His guiding presence fuels the Foundation’s mission to uplift rural India through knowledge, skill-building, and purposeful action, anchored in deep sensitivity toward the environment and an unwavering belief in holistic development.

The essence is to advocate for a life of balance, where robust physical and mental health, an empowered mind, and mindful living form the foundation for both individual and collective growth, guided by India’s timeless spiritual traditions of love, oneness, compassion, and a deeper connection to humanity.The Foundation is supported by a vibrant team of senior experts and emerging leaders from diverse sectors—healthcare, education, technology, governance, and enterprise. Many are proud alumni of premier engineering and management institutes in India and abroad, bringing a rich blend of academic excellence and real-world experience. We collectively embody the knowledge, thought leadership, and vibrational energy of India’s premier institutions — NITs, IIMs, and the Defence Services Staff College — along with global perspectives from esteemed bodies like the Maxwell School of Public Administration, Syracuse University, USA. This unique convergence equips us with a deep understanding of diverse governance and organizational ecosystems, both in the public and private sectors. It empowers us to design and implement action plans that are not only well-informed but also purposefully aligned toward the upliftment of semi-urban and rural communities.

Our mission is further enriched by the wisdom of our distinguished advisors — Shri Shymal Roy, a seasoned economist from IIM Bangalore, and Lt. Gen. S. R. Mehta, AVSM, PVSM (Retd.), from the Army Medical Corps — whose guidance on critical issues in education and health continues to shape our strategic thinking and grassroots interventions.
